Virginia Democrats Move to Redraw Congressional Map

Virginia Democrats will launch a mid‑decade bid to redraw congressional districts, potentially netting two or three seats, making the state the second after California where Democrats move to counter Mr. Trump–backed GOP mapmaking before 2026. Leaders will announce the plan Thursday and convene lawmakers for a Monday session to start a constitutional amendment requiring approval in consecutive sessions and a statewide referendum.
