Vance says he was insulted by Israeli lawmakers' "very stupid political stunt" on West Bank annexation

During a visit to Israel, Vice President JD Vance blasted a Knesset preliminary vote advancing West Bank annexation as “a very stupid political stunt,” noting the Trump administration’s policy rejects annexation and will continue. The measure passed 25–24 but, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, lacked his party’s support and was a provocative opposition move unlikely to advance. Vance said he hopes an international security force will disarm Hamas and that reconstruction can begin quickly in Gaza, adding Rafah could be rebuilt within two to three years.
