Two men have been arrested over the Louvre’s €88m crown-jewel heist and have “partially recognised” involvement, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said. Identified by DNA, the men are suspected of using power tools to raid the Galerie d’Apollon; one was stopped boarding a one-way flight to Algeria. The jewels are still missing, the gang may be larger than the four seen on CCTV, and no inside help is indicated. The October 19 robbery lasted four minutes, with a lift, a disc cutter and scooters. Security has tightened, and some jewels were moved to the Bank of France.
