Trump fires federal arts board in charge of reviewing White House ballroom and ‘Arc de Trump’

Donald Trump dismissed all six members of the Commission of Fine Arts, the independent body that reviews public design projects, including his proposed White House ballroom and a planned “Arc de Trump” near Arlington Memorial Bridge. Emails obtained by the Washington Post confirmed the immediate terminations. A White House official said new appointees will align with Trump’s America First policies. The 1910-established commission advises on architecture and aesthetics. As crews dismantled part of the East Wing, Trump advanced a donor-funded $300m ballroom and floated a grand arch topped with a gold Lady Liberty.
