Gunfire erupted at a large outdoor Halloween party near Maxton, North Carolina, early Saturday, leaving two people dead — including a 16-year-old — and several others critically wounded, authorities said. The Robeson County sheriff said 13 people were shot after a confrontation between two groups among a crowd of more than 300. A 47-year-old man also died. One victim was airlifted; others were treated nearby. No arrests were made, though multiple persons of interest were identified. Investigators believe multiple shooters and weapons were involved. More than 150 attendees fled; officials reported no ongoing threat.
