Russia tested its nuclear-capable, nuclear-powered Burevestnik cruise missile, President Vladimir Putin said in Kremlin video released Sunday. Gen. Valery Gerasimov reported the missile flew 14,000 kilometers in 15 hours and suggested its range could be longer. Citing an almost unlimited range and unpredictable path, Putin claimed the weapon could evade current and future defenses, and told commanders to start preparing infrastructure and complete final tests. On Wednesday, he oversaw strategic nuclear drills involving Russia’s full triad—ICBMs, a Barents Sea submarine, and Tu-95 bombers—as a planned Trump-Ukraine summit was put on hold.
