NYC early voting ends with record turnout, shattering 2021 stats

New York City closed early voting with a record 735,317 check-ins for a non-presidential election, more than quadrupling 2021’s total. Brooklyn led with 243,737 check-ins, followed by Manhattan (212,679), Queens (166,519), the Bronx (58,661) and Staten Island (53,721). Only presidential contests have drawn higher early turnout. Polls open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. as Democrat Zohran Mamdani, independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa compete to replace outgoing Mayor Eric Adams, alongside races for public advocate, comptroller, borough presidents, City Council, judges, and six ballot proposals.
