New York man charged with parents’ murders after TV confession

Lorenz Kraus confessed to murdering his parents and burying their bodies in his upstate New York backyard during a TV interview. Police discovered the remains shortly after the interview, approximately eight years after the parents were last seen. Kraus claimed his actions were merciful due to his parents' declining health. He was arrested immediately after the interview and charged with two counts of murder and illicitly concealing a corpse, pleading not guilty.
