2 women die attempting to cross the English Channel from France to the UK

Two women died Saturday attempting to cross the English Channel from France to the UK in a makeshift boat. Rescuers found them in cardiac arrest, and a couple and child were treated for hypothermia. This incident brings the total migrant deaths this year attempting the crossing to 17. Meanwhile, France and the UK have begun an "one in, one out" program, returning unauthorized migrants and sending vetted asylum-seekers.
