Las Vegas Aces win 2025 WNBA championship following sweep of Phoenix Mercury

The Las Vegas Aces swept the Phoenix Mercury 97-86 to clinch the 2025 WNBA title, their third in four seasons. A’ja Wilson scored 31 with nine rebounds, capping a historic year as season MVP, Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year—the first to claim all three in one season. Phoenix rallied from 16 down and pulled within six before fading; Kahleah Copper had 30 but fouled out, and coach Nate Tibbetts was ejected. Chelsea Gray praised a team that started 14-14 before surging, as boos met Commissioner Cathy Engelbert during the trophy ceremony.
