Two D.C.-based federal prosecutors were placed on leave after a sentencing memo in the Taylor Taranto case described Jan. 6 as a “mob” riot, three sources told CBS News. The filing sought 27 months and said Taranto drove to Barack Obama’s D.C. neighborhood after Mr. Trump posted the former president’s purported address; Taranto was later convicted of livestreaming a bomb threat. Hours later, a shorter memo omitted those references and listed different prosecutors, with U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro still on it. Pirro stressed threats are taken seriously. Mr. Trump granted clemency to over 1,500 Capitol rioters this year.
