Outer Banks Director Accused; Stars Intervene in Confrontation

Outer Banks co-creator and director Jonas Pate has been accused of grabbing and shaking a young production assistant while shouting in her face. A source tells Variety that star Chase Stokes witnessed the physical and verbal aggression and immediately intervened, with Madelyn Cline stepping in afterward to help de-escalate the confrontation. The Netflix series is currently in production on its fifth and final season in Dubrovnik, Croatia; Netflix did not respond to Variety’s request for comment. The show debuted in 2020 and was renewed for its concluding season in November 2024. TMZ first reported the news.
