Israel Airstrikes Follow Video of Staged Recovery

Israel launched overnight airstrikes in Gaza, saying Hamas violated a cease-fire in place for three weeks that focused on returning hostages' bodies. The military released drone footage it says shows Hamas staging a recovery of the partial remains of Ofir Tzarfati, 27, as Red Cross observers watched; The New York Times verified the location in Gaza City. The Red Cross later called a staged recovery unacceptable and said its team couldn't intervene. Hamas accused Israel of fabricating pretexts. Soon after, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered forceful strikes that local health officials said killed at least 100.
