'Mistake' Replacing Biden With Harris in 2024 Election

George Clooney says he stands by his New York Times op ed urging Joe Biden to exit the 2024 race, but now calls naming Kamala Harris the Democratic nominee a mistake. In a CBS Sunday Morning interview, he said he wanted a rapid primary and argued Harris was forced to run against her own record. After Biden’s June debate with Donald Trump, Clooney wrote the op ed and later endorsed Harris, who lost to Trump in November 2024. He also praised Biden’s withdrawal in September as a selfless act.
