Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested Thursday in an FBI probe of two illegal gambling schemes partly organized by New York crime families, prosecutors said. One indictment alleges NBA insiders, including Rozier and Jones, used nonpublic info to bet on seven games in 2023–24; another describes rigged New York poker games that lured victims with the promise of playing against Billups and Jones. More than 30 people were arrested in 11 states. FBI director Kash Patel called fraud “mind-boggling.” Rozier’s attorney called the arrest a surprise.
