Ex-Superintendent Charged With Illegal Gun Possession

Former Des Moines Public School Superintendent Ian Roberts faces federal charges in Iowa for illegal possession of firearms. Roberts, a native of Guyana who overstayed his visa, was arrested by ICE with a handgun and cash. A subsequent search of his residence revealed multiple additional firearms. He resigned from his position prior to the charges and had a prior order of removal. His immigration status and prior applications for residency were denied.
