Eugenio Suárez grand slam powers Seattle Mariners to within one win of first World Series

Eugenio Suárez launched a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth, the Mariners’ second-ever in the postseason, lifting Seattle past the Blue Jays 6-2 and into a 3-2 series lead. Cal Raleigh earlier tied it with a fly that hung 6.7 seconds, after Suárez’s second-inning solo shot; his blast marked Seattle’s first game-tying or go-ahead homer in the eighth or later of a playoff game since 2001. Manager Dan Wilson said the roar was the loudest he can remember. Seattle heads to Toronto for Game 6 on Sunday, one win from erasing its record of never reaching the Fall Classic.
