Federal prosecutors unsealed two indictments alleging an illegal betting scheme using inside NBA information and a separate plot to rig Mafia-backed poker games. The cases name Miami’s Terry Rozier, ex-player Damon Jones and Portland coach Chauncey Billups; Rozier and Billups were placed on leave. Prosecutors say Jones shared nonpublic injury news to profit on wagers involving the Lakers, Hornets, Raptors and Trail Blazers. In New York, Billups and Jones allegedly helped lure victims to rigged games that netted more than $7 million. Billups’ lawyer forcefully denied the claims.
