Billionaire John Castimatidis, CEO of WABC Radio and Red Apple Media, urged Republican New York City mayoral hopeful Curtis Sliwa to quit, warning his candidacy could split the vote; he called for consolidating support behind a 'viable alternative' to avoid a damaging outcome. Sliwa refused: 'I trust the people… I will not drop out.' Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, appearing amused, said he and Sliwa agree that billionaires shouldn’t control the city’s future, and added that independent candidate Andrew Cuomo is pleading with Donald Trump and billionaire donors to clear a path for his return.
