Brian Kelly was fired after a "very tense" Sunday meeting with LSU athletic director Scott Woodward, who pushed to dismiss offensive play-caller Joe Sloan following an ugly home loss to Texas A&M, The Athletic reported. Sloan was ousted Monday, and the discussion included "threats" over negotiating Kelly’s roughly $54 million buyout; the school says terms are still being negotiated. LSU is 5-3 after losing three of its last four and ranks 14th in SEC total offense. Kelly departs 34-14 over three-plus seasons. Associate head coach Frank Wilson is interim head coach.
