Memphis Deploys National Guard for Crime Surge

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced plans for a significant surge of resources to combat crime in Memphis, including 13 federal agencies and state troopers. National Guard troops from Tennessee will be deputized by the U.S. Marshals Service to assist local law enforcement but will not make arrests or be armed unless requested.
