A massive blast at a Tennessee explosives plant obliterated a building and left 18 people missing. Here’s what we know

An early-morning explosion leveled a building at Accurate Energetic Systems in central Tennessee on Friday, killing an undisclosed number of people and leaving at least 18 missing. The blast, which set off smaller explosions, scattered debris over at least half a square mile and was felt up to 15 miles away. More than 300 responders converged as officials urged residents to avoid the area and report debris. Investigators, including ATF and local sheriffs, are analyzing cell-tower records to identify who was inside. A vigil drew grieving neighbors, and three people with minor injuries were treated.
