Russia targets Ukraine’s power grid as Moscow expresses ‘extreme concern’ over long-range U.S. weapons

Russia pummeled Ukraine’s power grid overnight, part of a campaign to cripple energy infrastructure before winter, wounding two DTEK workers at a substation and striking facilities in Donetsk, Odesa and Chernihiv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decried intensified attacks—more than 3,100 drones, 92 missiles and about 1,360 glide bombs in a week—and urged tighter measures against buyers of Russian oil. After a call with U.S. President Donald Trump, he said he awaits a decision on Tomahawks, as the Kremlin voiced “extreme concern” and Belarus’s leader expressed doubt. Ukraine said it downed or jammed 103 of 118 drones; Russia claimed 32.
