U.S. Expands Boat Strikes to Colombia's Pacific

U.S. Special Operations carried out an eighth lethal strike on a suspected drug-smuggling boat late Tuesday, this time in the eastern Pacific off Colombia, killing two or three people, a U.S. official said. Ordered by President Trump since Sept. 2, the campaign treats suspected traffickers as wartime targets, drawing legal challenges and condemnation in Colombia. The administration says past strikes occurred in international waters against terrorist-designated cartels but has offered no evidence. The latest, still unannounced operation highlights a widening focus from Venezuela toward Colombia and the Pacific.
