University of Colorado Boulder professor Casey Fiesler had her National Science Foundation grant for AI literacy research unexpectedly terminated. The NSF has canceled over 400 active awards, possibly due to scrutiny over the use of words like "misinformation" and those related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This follows a report by Senator Ted Cruz and an internal NSF review, as well as a previous Trump administration attempt to freeze grant payments. Dr. Fiesler received no explanation for the cancellation.
