Four student journalists covering the protest were temporarily suspended but later reinstated. The protests occurred amidst wider crackdowns on student activism across US universities.

A joint operation between federal immigration officials and the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Nashville resulted in the detention of over 100 immigrants. The operation, part of a broader national effort to increase deportations, involved 588 traffic stops. While authorities claim stops were based on driving infractions, immigrant rights groups allege racial profiling, citing the targeting of neighborhoods with large minority populations. Nashville city officials expressed surprise and concern, denying involvement, while the state defended the operation, highlighting drug and firearm seizures. The arrests have instilled fear and uncertainty within Nashville's immigrant community.

Kyiv hosted a meeting of global leaders, including the UK Prime Minister, pushing for a 30-day unconditional ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The coalition, dubbed the "coalition of the willing," threatened "massive" sanctions against Russia if it refuses. While acknowledging the talks weren't conclusive, the UK Prime Minister called the outcome a "significant moment" in achieving a ceasefire, highlighting the unprecedented unity among world leaders in their demands and planned response. Russia's response was initially dismissive, with the Kremlin accusing the coalition of contradictory statements and demanding a halt to weapons supplies to Ukraine before considering a ceasefire. However, later reports suggest Russia will consider the proposal.

Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, known for her staunch loyalty to Donald Trump, has been nominated as the interim federal prosecutor for Washington D.C. Pirro's lack of recent government legal experience and history of controversial statements on Fox News have raised concerns. This appointment follows the controversial appointment of another former Fox News personality, Pete Hegseth, as defense secretary. Pirro's nomination, the 23rd former Fox employee appointed by Trump, highlights the close ties between the Trump administration and Fox News. The appointment's long-term viability is uncertain, facing potential legal challenges.

India has declared that future terrorist attacks will be considered acts of war, prompting a strong warning to Pakistan. This decision, endorsed by PM Modi and top military officials, follows the successful anti-terror operation 'Operation Sindoor'. Intelligence agencies detailed the terrorists eliminated, including those involved in the 1999 IC-814 hijacking. The move aligns with a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, mirroring the Council of Europe's view equating war and terrorism. Security analyst Michael Rubin suggested India adopt a similarly tough stance as Israel, emphasizing relentless pursuit of terrorists.

A federal judge in California issued a 14-day temporary restraining order halting the Trump administration's large-scale government restructuring plan. Judge Susan Illston sided with unions and other plaintiffs who argued the administration lacked congressional authorization for mass layoffs and agency overhauls. The ruling, impacting various agencies like the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Farm Service Agency, prevents widespread job terminations. The judge cited evidence of significant disruption to critical services and scheduled a hearing to consider a longer injunction. The White House hasn't yet responded.

South Korea's People Power Party (PPP) faced internal turmoil, briefly replacing its presidential candidate Kim Moon Soo with former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo before reversing the decision. The attempt to replace Kim, who won the party primary, was rejected by a narrow margin in a party vote. This chaotic situation, following the ouster of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, highlights a leadership crisis within the PPP and potentially jeopardizes their chances in the upcoming June 3rd election. Kim has been reinstated as the candidate.

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is facing online ridicule after two separate interviews. In an Al Arabiya interview, he repeatedly claimed poor audio quality when pressed for evidence regarding Indian airstrikes. Previously, during a CNN interview, he cited social media as proof of Pakistan shooting down Indian jets, a response deemed unsatisfactory by the anchor. These incidents follow heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after India's retaliatory airstrikes targeting alleged terrorist infrastructure in response to a deadly attack in Pahalgam.

President Trump's planned dinner with major investors in his "$TRUMP" memecoin has raised eyebrows. The coin's value surged 50% after the announcement, benefiting Trump and associates who own 80% of the supply. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the event, claiming Trump adheres to conflict-of-interest laws, but offered no explanation for the dinner's timing. The event appears to be a clear case of potential self-dealing, prompting questions about transparency and ethical concerns.
