The star button on a Roku remote is a versatile tool that adapts to where you are on the device.

When you’re on the home screen, pressing it while an app is highlighted reveals options such as removing the app from Quick Access, viewing its version, or rating it. If you’re watching content, the star opens a sidebar with image‑quality tweaks, a sleep timer, closed captions, and volume mode settings—features that vary slightly between Roku TVs and streaming boxes.

For users needing accessibility, the star can toggle the screen‑reader feature on supported Roku models with a quick four‑press sequence, allowing voice navigation without navigating menus. Understanding these contexts lets you streamline your Roku experience and access hidden settings with a single button.

Chick‑fil‑A’s chief executive, Andrew Cathy, reaffirmed that the chain’s Sunday shutdown will remain unchanged, citing the company’s Christian heritage and employee rest.

Cathy, who succeeded his father Dan in two thousand and twenty‑one, explained that the policy dates back to the original Atlanta outlet, which closed on Sundays for rest and church in the early twentieth century.

The decision to keep the tradition alive reflects the firm’s commitment to its founding values, even as it faces scrutiny over other social stances. By maintaining the Sunday pause, Chick‑fil‑A preserves a unique brand identity that differentiates it in a crowded fast‑food market.

On Saturday, a fierce blaze erupted during training at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, killing four service members and injuring dozens. Prime Minister Mark Carney described the incident as one of the worst peacetime tragedies for Canada’s military on domestic soil. Premier Danielle Smith reported that thirty‑nine people were hospitalized, with nineteen in critical condition, and that patients were transferred to four hospitals across Alberta. The military confirmed no indication of terrorism, and the cause remains under investigation. The tragedy prompted flags at half‑staff on federal buildings nationwide in honor of the fallen and injured.

The incident has drawn national attention to safety protocols during live‑fire exercises and the capacity of local hospitals to manage mass casualties. It also highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Canadian forces stationed at remote bases.
