Davis Shore secured his 2027 PGA Tour card after a top‑eighteen finish on the Korn Ferry Tour. The achievement follows a career marked by injuries and a steady climb through college and state championships.

Shore’s perseverance earned him recognition from Turtleson CEO Greg Oakley, who praised the golfer’s resilience and potential impact on the tour. The company’s endorsement underscores Shore’s growing marketability and the strategic partnership between athlete and brand.

This milestone positions Shore as a promising talent for the upcoming PGA season, while highlighting Turtleson’s commitment to supporting emerging sports figures. Shore’s journey began with state titles at CAK in 2014‑15, and he has since navigated the challenges of professional golf. His recent performance at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in 2024 kept his Korn Ferry status intact, setting the stage for his 2027 card.

The PGA Tour Champions, a senior‑golf circuit for men fifty and older, has faced a sharp reduction in its player pension pool.

In 2024 the fund stood at ten million dollars, a figure that many veterans had come to rely upon for post‑career security. A year later, the PGA Tour announced a twenty‑percent cut, lowering the pool to eight million dollars.

Players have described the decision as disheartening and, in some circles, criminal. The backlash has intensified as the tour’s new CEO, Brian Rolapp, pushes a fiscal austerity agenda that many see as undermining the long‑term welfare of senior golfers.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham met President Volodymyr Zelensky in London, navigating a delicate diplomatic path amid recent U‑turns by former President Donald Trump. The meeting followed Trump’s abrupt lifting of sanctions on Russian diesel and his call for Zelensky’s replacement, events that rattled European allies.

Burnham pledged to accelerate delivery of lightweight multirole missiles and reaffirmed Britain’s financial and military support, while carefully avoiding criticism of Trump’s policy shifts. In Parliament, Liberal Democrat Sir Ed Davey questioned the PM’s silence on Trump’s actions, framing the debate as a test of European solidarity.

The encounter underscored Britain’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty while maintaining a cautious stance toward U.S. policy changes.

The U.S. Department of Justice has issued a 48‑hour deadline to California election officials, demanding proof of citizenship for voters flagged as potential noncitizens. Acting Deputy Attorney General R.

Trent McCotter sent letters to Secretary of State Shirley Weber and L.A. County Registrar‑Recorder Dean Logan, citing a password‑protected thumb drive with names the federal government believes are likely noncitizens. Officials must segregate, not cancel, ballots until citizenship status is confirmed. The move follows earlier claims that California may have over one‑hundred‑ninety‑thousand noncitizen voters, a figure later contested by state officials.

Election experts warn that the demand violates DOJ rules and risks disenfranchising legitimate voters. The request arrives just days before the Nov. 3 midterm election, when ballots have already been mailed. California officials have not yet responded, raising concerns about the timing and accuracy of the federal list.

Rachel Maddow highlighted a recent Washington Post report revealing that the United States and Russia have agreed to remove safety measures from artificial‑intelligence‑driven military weapons.

The discussion aired on the MS NOW network on September twenty‑ninth, two thousand twenty‑six, drawing attention to the potential erosion of international safeguards.

Maddow emphasized that such actions could undermine the United Nations treaty designed to ensure global safety, raising alarms among policymakers and defense experts. The segment underscored the urgent need for transparent oversight and robust regulatory frameworks to prevent autonomous systems from making lethal decisions without human intervention.

Netflix’s new drama “La Bola Negra” captivated audiences at Cannes, earning a twenty‑minute standing ovation and a shared best‑director prize for Los Javis.

The film follows three gay men across 1932, 1937, and 2017, weaving love, war, and history into a single narrative. Spanish actors Guitarricadelafuente and Miguel Bernardeau portray a soldier and his prisoner‑of‑war guard, while a cameo by Glenn Close helps tie the eras together.

The story’s authenticity was bolstered by military training for the actors and a powerful scene with Penélope Cruz that broadened the characters’ horizons. With its first non‑English‑language win at the Toronto International Film Festival since 2011, “La Bola Negra” is poised as a strong Oscar contender, challenging Hollywood’s traditional narratives.

Salience Labs, a Silicon Valley start‑up, announced a $125‑million Series B round led by AMD Ventures, Intel Capital and the British Business Bank. The funding will accelerate the company’s all‑optical photonic switches, designed to boost data‑center performance for artificial‑intelligence workloads.

In October 2026, the firm demonstrated a 64‑port optical switch at the ECOC conference, showcasing its potential to replace traditional electronic interconnects. The expansion will see new facilities in California, positioning Salience Labs as a key player in the emerging silicon‑photonic market.

Investors expect the technology to reduce latency and energy consumption in AI data centers, offering a competitive edge for cloud providers and enterprise customers. The Series B round follows an $11.5‑million seed in 2022 and a $30‑million Series A in 2023, underscoring growing confidence in optical networking. With the new capital, Salience Labs plans to scale production

Joe Espada, former Houston Astros manager, is slated to interview Seattle Mariners for their vacant managerial position. After a decade with the Astros, Espada’s tenure included a World Series title in two thousand twenty‑two and two AL West championships.

He was promoted to manager in 2023 following Dusty Baker’s retirement and led Houston to a division title in 2024. The Astros released Espada in early August, a few weeks before his contract expired. Seattle, which relieved Dan Wilson of duties at season’s end, seeks fresh leadership and has expressed interest in hiring a manager with major‑league experience.

Espada’s experience and success make him a compelling candidate for the Mariners’ front office. The Mariners’ president of baseball operations, Jerry Dipoto, emphasized the need for new ideas and a shift in messaging. With Espada’s track record, the organization hopes to build on its recent playoff

Long Island’s housing market has slipped from record highs reached in September as mortgage rates climb.

The median price in Nassau County rose to about eight hundred thousand dollars in June, while Suffolk County’s median hovered near seven hundred twenty‑five thousand dollars. Yet inventory remains tight, and sellers are gradually lowering asking prices to attract buyers.

The trend reflects broader affordability pressures and a shift in buyer sentiment, with many homeowners opting to stay put or sell at reduced prices rather than wait for a rate drop. The market’s cooling may ease pressure on new buyers but could also dampen local construction and related services.
