Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott urged teammates to voice physical concerns after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was ruled out with a superficial blood clot. Prescott said the pressure to ignore symptoms can be scary, especially when a clot could threaten life.

He praised his personal physical therapist, Luke Miller, for catching issues early and encouraged open dialogue with training staff. The Eagles’ medical team discovered Hurts’ clot after an ultrasound on Saturday following a London trip for a Week five game.

The clot moved, leading the team to rule him out for Week six against the Carolina Panthers. Prescott’s message stresses that athletes should not shy from reporting discomfort, fostering safer play.

Apple is preparing to introduce OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models on the evening of October twenty‑seven or October twenty‑eight, with a potential launch on Friday, November sixth.

The company has scheduled a "big floor reset" at retail stores on Thursday evening, November fifth, extending into Friday, November sixth, likely to ready the stores for the new Macs. Alongside the MacBook Pro, rumors suggest an OLED iPad mini, M6 iMac, and M6 entry‑level fourteen‑inch MacBook Pro will debut.

The new MacBook Pro models will use the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, offering a higher‑end option without new processors. Apple will also release the iPhone Duo on October twenty‑three, HomePod mini two on October thirty, and Apple TV four‑K on November thirteenth.

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera captured images revealing more than ten thousand young faults across the Moon’s surface, a discovery published in The Planetary Science Journal. Scientists determined the lunar radius has shrunk by roughly one hundred forty‑eight feet over four hundred million years, creating active fault lines that can trigger moonquakes at any time. The finding has immediate implications for NASA’s Artemis program, as thirteen proposed landing sites for Artemis four lie near potential quake epicenters, heightening risks of landslides and equipment damage.

The study underscores the Moon’s dynamic geology, contrasting it with Earth’s plate tectonics. While Earth’s 15 lithospheric plates concentrate seismic activity, the Moon’s single shell means faults can appear anywhere, complicating predictive models. Future lunar missions must incorporate this new fault map into risk assessments and landing strategies to ensure crew safety and mission success.

Battlefield Six’s Season Five, released earlier this week, introduced the new Area 51 map, praised by many players. However, the season pass also delivered a series of cosmetics that raised alarm. Fans noted a character with five pistols, another with a misspelled “Secuty” patch, and a magazine design that seemed AI‑generated. Thousands of subreddit upvotes and comments erupted, accusing the studio of charging for low‑quality, possibly AI‑created content. The controversy echoes earlier incidents when EA shipped similar cosmetics months after launch, only patching them later. With developers laid off and a leveraged sale to Saudi Arabia, the situation highlights the tension between rapid content production and quality control.

The backlash underscores a broader industry debate: how much value should AI‑generated assets hold, and who should bear responsibility for errors?

Meta has introduced Muse Spark Open, an open‑weight AI model designed to run locally on Apple silicon. The model boasts eight‑one‑six billion parameters and a one‑million‑token context window, positioning it as the most capable open‑weight model in the United States.

It is natively multimodal, tailored for complex coding tasks and agentic labor, and requires at least one terabyte of RAM, best supported by the Mac Studio with the M5 Ultra chip. The launch follows Meta’s earlier open‑weight initiatives, such as the Llama family in February two‑thousand‑twenty‑three and the Muse Glimmer release in August two‑thousand‑twenty‑six.

By pairing Muse Spark Open with Muse Code, Meta aims to streamline coding fixes for platforms like Mastodon and enhance video editing workflows in DaVinci Resolve. The model’s availability through multiple API platforms signals Meta’s commitment to cost‑efficient, transparent

Researchers at the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab confirmed that mercenary hackers laced online ads with zero‑click exploits, installing sophisticated spyware on iOS and Android devices without user interaction.

The campaign, dubbed AdFection, infected forty‑five devices at the international media organization Al Jazeera during twenty‑four and twenty‑five, illustrating a new threat vector that targets journalists and newsrooms worldwide. Discover‑Tech, an Israeli advertising broker, facilitated the delivery of these malicious ads through major platforms such as Google, Yandex, and Beeswax.

In response, Google and the IAB Europe removed Discover‑Tech from their vendor registries, and other ad networks terminated its access, signaling a swift industry backlash. The incident underscores the growing intersection of advertising revenue models and state‑backed cyber espionage, raising urgent questions about regulatory oversight and the protection of media personnel.

Eric Deters, a Republican donor, has filed a defamation lawsuit against former U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle in Kentucky state court.

Deters claims Guilfoyle asked him to wire her one hundred thousand dollars to pay an American Express bill in exchange for political assistance during her Senate confirmation hearing. He says the lawsuit follows a public dispute over the authenticity of text messages he shared with news outlets, including CBS News.

Guilfoyle’s legal team has denied the allegations, stating Deters owes her money and did not meet his obligations. The case highlights ongoing tensions between Trump allies and former officials amid scrutiny of political fundraising practices.

Bela Bajaria, who joined Netflix in two thousand sixteen, has announced her departure after a decade of shaping the streaming giant’s content strategy.

She first oversaw the unscripted television slate before being promoted to Chief Content Officer in January two thousand twenty‑three, a role that saw the launch of high‑profile shows such as Squid Game, The Night Agent, and live sports events. Her exit follows a massive layoff that cut around one thousand employees, occurring just twenty‑four hours earlier.

Co‑CEO Ted Sarandos praised Bajaria’s dedication, noting her influence on expanding global programming and driving engagement across diverse genres. The announcement comes amid slowing growth and challenges with second‑season ratings for titles like Beef and The Four Seasons, issues that may have contributed to the leadership change.

All four astronauts of the Artemis II mission have announced retirement from active spaceflight, choosing to pursue new professional paths. Mission specialist Christina Koch has been promoted to acting deputy chief engineer at NASA, a role that will oversee engineering teams and future missions.

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen has left the Canadian Space Agency and transitioned to a reservist role in the Royal Canadian Air Force, focusing on advancing Canada’s independent space capabilities. Pilot Victor Glover has returned to academia, becoming an executive advisor at California Polytechnic State University, while astronaut commander Reid Wiseman’s next steps remain undisclosed.

These career moves signal a shift in NASA’s talent pipeline, as experienced astronauts transition to leadership, advisory, and educational roles. The agency will continue to rely on emerging astronauts for future lunar and deep‑space endeavors, while the retirees’ expertise will support mission planning and public outreach.
