Iran President Endorses Peace Deal With US

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian endorsed a peace memorandum of understanding signed with the United States, declaring it serves the interests of Tehran and the wider West Asia region. Speaking in Tehran on Saturday, Pezeshkian asserted that implementing the agreement would prevent the United States and Israel from instigating regional insecurity and chaos, enabling local states to pursue stability and development. This diplomatic overture occurs amidst ongoing military conflict and a sustained campaign of United States strikes against Iran. President Donald Trump previously threatened retaliation following a surprise attack attributed to Iran. Simultaneously, domestic public support for the military campaign has declined within the United States, according to recent polling data showing low approval and widespread expectations of a protracted conflict. These mounting pressures coincide with economic anxieties affecting American heartlands ahead of upcoming midterm legislative elections.
