X is testing a new iOS link view that keeps like, reply, and repost buttons visible by collapsing the original post to the bottom instead of letting the browser cover the screen, aiming to curb drop‑offs after external clicks. The change addresses complaints that link posts underperform by steering users away from the app. Elon Musk also said X will tweak recommendations and, within four to six weeks, move toward “deletion of all heuristics,” letting its Grok AI analyze every post and video to match content to users — potentially boosting reach, even for small accounts.

Tracker’s premiere explained two quiet departures: Eric Graise’s Bobby left the repair shop for an encryption specialist role at a new startup, complete with stock options and salary; Abby McEnany’s Velma went to be with her wife Teddi to work on their marriage, with her return uncertain. The hour opens as Russ (Jensen Ackles) pulls Colter (Justin Hartley) from a bar fight before Reenie (Fiona Rene)—now working with Bobby’s cousin Randy—assigns them a job: a client’s missing ex-wife and daughter, a suspected crypto scheme that spirals into something bigger. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Riding a 2-0 mark in night games, the Atlanta Falcons visit the 49ers on Sunday night carrying the NFL’s No. 1 total defense and No. 2 total offense. Atlanta is averaging 378.8 yards per game and allowing 253.4, making it just the second team in the past 15 seasons to rank top two on both sides at least five weeks into a season, per NBC Sports research; the Bills did it through Week 7 in 2022. Despite the numbers, the 49ers are favored by 1.5 points.

Ukrainian drones ignited a fire at Gazprom’s Orenburg gas plant near Kazakhstan, forcing a halt to intake of gas from Kazakhstan, officials said, as Kyiv claimed a separate strike on the Novokuibyshevsk refinery. Ukraine’s military reported a large-scale fire and damage to a processing unit; Russian authorities did not immediately acknowledge the refinery hit. In a Fox News interview, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested Ukraine may have to cede territory and was noncommittal on Tomahawk missiles. Overnight, Russia said it downed 45 drones; Ukraine reported 62 launched.

China’s economy grew 4.8% in the third quarter, in line with forecasts, even as an ongoing property slump weighed on investment. Fixed-asset investment fell 0.5% in the first nine months—its first contraction since 2020—with property investment down 13.9%. Pinpoint Asset Management’s Zhiwei Zhang called the drop “rare and alarming,” warning of pressure on fourth‑quarter growth. September data were mixed: retail sales rose 3% but slowed from August; industrial output jumped 6.5%, beating expectations; exports stayed resilient. Core inflation quickened while headline prices fell 0.3%. Benchmark lending rates were kept unchanged.

The last Ebola patient in the Democratic Republic of the Congo was discharged from a Kasai treatment centre, the WHO said, marking the 19th recovery among 64 cases since September 4. No new infections have been reported since September 25. WHO Africa director Mohamed Janabi called the milestone a remarkable achievement as health workers cheered in Bulape. The country’s 16th outbreak has caused 45 deaths; WHO teams set up a 32‑bed centre and vaccinated more than 35,000 people in the remote region. If no cases emerge in 42 days, the outbreak will be declared over.

Rashee Rice marked his season debut with two touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs rolled past the Las Vegas Raiders, scoring on their first five drives before resting starters in the fourth quarter. Back from a six-game suspension and a late-September 2024 knee injury, Rice opened with a 2-yard red-zone score—punting the ball into the stands—and finished with seven catches for 42 yards. Patrick Mahomes hit him on a no-look pass for 12 yards. Limited to 16 routes by design, Rice still led with 10 targets, drawing praise from Andy Reid and Travis Kelce.

The Giants unraveled in Denver, surrendering 33 fourth-quarter points and a 19-point lead before Will Lutz’s 39-yard field goal beat them, 33-32. Rookie Jaxon Dart threw for 283 yards with four total touchdowns and, after a fourth-and-19 conversion, snuck in for a late score that should have stood—until Jude McAtamney missed his second PAT. Denver’s surge included Justin Strnad’s interception, an 18-yard Bo Nix touchdown run and a tip-drill grab by Troy Franklin. New York’s defense had dominated early, fueling a 13-0 halftime edge, but the final six minutes turned Empower Field into a roar.

Universal and Blumhouse’s The Black Phone 2 opened to $42 million worldwide, with $26.5 million in the U.S. and Canada and $15.5 million from 71 markets. Mexico led internationally with $4.3 million, ahead of the U.K. and Ireland ($1.4 million) and Brazil ($1.2 million). Directed by Scott Derrickson, the Grabber’s return debuted slightly above the 2022 original’s $35.8 million global start. The $30 million sequel shouldn’t struggle to cover costs, but needs staying power as Blumhouse seeks a rebound. Meanwhile, Disney’s Tron: Ares dropped about 50% to $14.1 million abroad, hitting $103 million worldwide after two weekends.

The National Transportation Safety Board said Sunday it is investigating a United Airlines flight struck midair by an object over Utah, cracking a 737 MAX cockpit window and cutting a pilot’s arm with small glass shards. The Denver–Los Angeles flight diverted and landed safely in Salt Lake City. Investigators are gathering radar, weather, and flight recorder data, and the windscreen is headed to NTSB labs. The object’s origin is unconfirmed; possibilities mentioned include a meteorite, space debris, hail, a high‑altitude bird, or a weather balloon. The jet was above 30,000 feet and the cockpit apparently maintained pressure.
