These incidents occurred amidst Israel's long-standing naval blockade of Gaza. The flotilla organizers condemned the attacks, alleging deliberate endangerment of civilians and calling for independent investigations. A Google spokesperson indicated no official announcements are ready.

Google is introducing developer verification for sideloaded Android apps, requiring a fee and cloud-based checks for most developers. While hobbyists get a free, limited tier, the new system is raising concerns about potential app censorship and increased reliance on Google's services. The verification process, set for Android 16, will focus on identifying malware and may impact alternative app stores and developer privacy, especially given past antitrust rulings against Google.
