A small asteroid, 2025 TF, recently passed Earth at a close distance of 265 miles, less than the orbit of the ISS. Scientists only detected it after its near-miss, highlighting detection challenges for smaller objects. This incident underscores the ongoing need for improved asteroid detection systems.

Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film, "One Battle After Another," a politically charged drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has achieved critical acclaim and box office success. While many critics view its themes as satirical fantasy, some on the right decry it as an "apologia for radical left-wing terrorism" and "irresponsible." The film's portrayal of a revolutionary fighting a white nationalist military officer, and its opening raid on an ICE facility, have drawn particular criticism for allegedly romanticizing violence and presenting a conspiratorial view of the U.S. as a fascist dictatorship.

The offer, which demands policy shifts on admissions, diversity, and free speech, has drawn criticism from California Governor Gavin Newsom. While USC's interim president stated no final decision has been made and the university is gathering community input, faculty urged a unified rejection of the "Trojan horse" compact.

President Macron's third premier appointment since last year's snap elections leaves him with limited options, potentially leading to further early parliamentary votes and rising borrowing costs. Lecornu's failure to secure budget consensus among various political factions, coupled with internal party disputes, exacerbated the crisis, boosting the far-right's prospects ahead of potential new elections.

Taylor Swift addressed rumors she rejected the Super Bowl halftime show. She clarified to Jimmy Fallon that while conversations occur about her general interest, no official offer has been made. Swift explained her focus is on supporting her fiancé, Travis Kelce, during his American football season, making a halftime performance logistically and mentally challenging.

Real estate investors, both individual and institutional, purchased one-third of single-family homes sold in Q2 2025, a five-year high. Despite a lower raw number of purchases year-over-year, their market share increased due to weaker overall sales. While large investors are shifting capital to build-to-rent, small investors dominate ownership. Institutional investors are net sellers, but this provides opportunities for smaller buyers and increases rental supply, particularly impacting states like Texas, California, and Florida.
