After hackers stole more than six billion dollars from Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange announced on Friday that it is working to recover the assets.
Binance’s spokesperson said the company is coordinating with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds.
Ari Redbord, former federal prosecutor and global head of policy at TRM Labs, called the heist the largest bank robbery in human history.
TRM Labs and other security firms linked the attack to an elite hacking unit tied to North Korea, known as TraderTraitor.
The entire operation lasted roughly twenty minutes, according to Binance.
