Tap title to read story
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany, forty‑year‑old, was discharged from hospital after collapsing at the club’s training ground. He was rushed to hospital last Friday following illness while watching the second team train. Doctors diagnosed meningeal irritation, an inflammation of the protective membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Max Eberl, the club’s sports board member, said Kompany is doing well and will rest and take medication. Bayern announced that his return will take weeks, not days. English assistant coach Aaron Danks led the team to a three‑one victory over Freiburg on Sunday. Kompany missed a pre‑match press conference before Bayern’s Champions League game against Arsenal but was on the touchline for the match. The club’s next challenge is a Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund.
