Jacob Morley, 28, escaped from Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, before 11:30 p.m.
Sunday.
He stole a work truck that was later found behind a business in Marion, Illinois, a town of about 16,000 located roughly 100 miles north of Tiptonville.
Marion Police Chief David Fitts said the truck’s presence does not indicate Morley is still in the area, noting no other stolen vehicles or evidence were found.
No confirmed sightings of Morley have been reported.
He was convicted of first‑degree murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, aggravated burglary, and theft of property after a February 2025 trial.
The reward for information leading to his arrest rose from $2,500 to $15,000, a combined sum from the Tennessee governor’s office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S.
