Indiana’s season‑long resilience surfaced again as quarterback Josh Hoover guided the Hoosiers to a narrow victory over Nebraska.
Facing a seventeen‑six deficit, Hoover completed twelve of twenty‑two passes amid a gale that rattled the stadium, yet he delivered a seventy‑five‑yard touchdown to Nick Marsh on the first play of the comeback. The momentum shifted when a fourth‑and‑two play‑action fooled the Huskers, allowing Hoover to find Marsh again for a forty‑four‑yard score, giving Indiana its first lead.
The defense forced a punt, and the offense held the lead until the final whistle, sealing a twenty‑one‑seven win. The game underscored Hoover’s growth, echoing the legacy of Fernando Mendoza and proving Indiana’s ability to overcome adversity.
