American golfer J.J. Spaun secured a two-stroke victory at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, finishing at 17-under-par after carding a final-round 5-under 67 in September 2026. Spaun capitalized on late-round heroics, including four birdies across his final five holes, to claim his second victory of the season. The triumph followed his omission from the U.S. Presidents Cup team by captain Brandt Snedeker, a snub Spaun credited with fueling his competitive motivation. Manuel Elvira, who shared the lead late after an eagle on the 17th hole, faltered with a double bogey on the 18th to finish in a four-way tie for second place at 15-under alongside Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Aaron Rai. The victory moves Spaun to the brink of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking, capping a remarkable performance in his tournament debut at Europe's flagship DP World Tour event.
