European authorities previously levied hefty financial penalties against the technology giant for favoring its own vertical services and restricting alternative app store steering. The updated presentation highlights specialized comparison platforms at the top while stripping away real-time pricing elements from traditional travel and retail carousels. Google stated that past compliance adjustments caused measurable drops in free direct booking traffic for European merchants.
