HHS Report Links Trans Support to Political Violence
PUBLISHED Sep 7, 2026, 9:51 AM ET
The United States Department of Health and Human Services released an unpeer-reviewed report connecting support for transgender individuals and medical guidelines to left-wing authoritarianism and political violence. The study measured gender ideology using statements asserting that people should be supported in expressing transgender identities and that parents should support children's transgender exploration. Independent scientists and epidemiologists criticized the document as poorly conducted and explicitly political. This federal release follows a series of administrative actions restricting gender-affirming care. These measures include Department of Justice enforcement agreements with hospitals to halt pediatric gender-affirming services, Medicaid restrictions, and proposed federal rules blocking health systems offering such care from receiving federal funding. Epidemiologists and public health researchers warned that the publication accelerates the political polarization of federal health science. Independent verification indicates the report has drawn widespread condemnation from major medical associations regarding scientific integrity.
