On September 7, 1996, legendary American rapper Tupac Shakur was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a Mike Tyson boxing match. Traveling in a vehicle driven by Marion Suge Knight, Shakur was struck four times when a white Cadillac opened fire at a red light. He succumbed to his injuries six days later on September 13, 1996, at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. For nearly three decades, his murder remained one of the most high-profile unsolved cases in music history. The investigation saw a major breakthrough when Duane Keffe D Davis was arrested and subsequently found guilty of first-degree murder for orchestrating the shooting. Davis was convicted largely based on admissions from his own published memoirs and public interviews.
