Harrison Smith Returning to Vikings on One-Year Deal

Veteran safety Harrison Smith is returning to the Minnesota Vikings for his 15th NFL season on a one-year contract worth $12.25 million, with a maximum value reaching $16.25 million through incentives. The agreement was reported by NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. Smith, 37, has spent his entire 14-year professional career with the franchise after being selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. Over 207 career games, the six-time Pro Bowl selection has accumulated 1,180 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, and 39 career interceptions, making him the active leader in interceptions across the National Football League. Smith previously contemplated his playing future following the conclusion of the previous season and had been designated as a post-June 1 release by the organization in March 2026 before finalizing his return to the Minnesota secondary.
