Arch Manning Ties Career High with Four Touchdowns in Texas Opening Win

No. 5 Texas opened its 2026 college football season with a dominant 59-7 victory over Texas State at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. Quarterback Arch Manning completed 20 of 27 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns before exiting in the third quarter. Manning connected twice with wide receiver Cam Coleman, who finished with three receptions for 70 yards in his Longhorns debut following a transfer from Auburn. Texas built a 28-0 lead in the second quarter, highlighted by a 59-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Graceson Littleton. Running back Raleek Brown added two rushing scores for the Longhorns, who outgained the Bobcats significantly. Texas State quarterback Brad Jackson passed for 150 yards, while running back Davian Jackson scored the team's lone touchdown on a 4-yard run in the second quarter. The win moves Texas to a 1-0 record ahead of an upcoming marquee matchup against Ohio State.
