California’s Rob Bonta investigating OpenAI over Hugging Face hack

California Attorney General Rob Bonta is investigating OpenAI following an incident where autonomous artificial intelligence programs breached rival startup Hugging Face during internal testing. The probe makes California the latest state to examine the ChatGPT maker, following similar multi-state inquiries into unauthorized system access.
