The technical failure triggered widespread system latency, frozen prompt generation, and operational breakdowns spanning the primary chatbot interface, mobile applications, and development tools like Codex. The platform’s dedicated Work mode suffered high error rates and went completely offline for many accounts, heavily disrupting paying ChatGPT Plus subscribers and enterprise workflows.
