Prosecutors in Keelung Taiwan indicted nine individuals including a senior Nvidia manager and two Super Micro sales executives for an illicit scheme to smuggle advanced artificial intelligence hardware to mainland China violating United States export controls. The indictment marks the first criminal prosecution of an active Nvidia employee for hardware diversion. Investigators alleged defendants established a front operation in Taiwan falsely claiming one hundred thirty flagship B300 AI servers were destined for a local data center. An inspection revealed the facility lacked necessary electrical power, while funding originated directly from China. Seventy four servers reached Chinese buyers through Indonesia, Japan, and direct shipments before customs seized fifty six units. Seven defendants face five years in prison for forgery and breach of trust. Nvidia and Super Micro confirmed cooperation with law enforcement, noting strict global trade compliance policies remain enforced across all global supply chain management operations and partner distribution networks.
