The CW Network canceled broadcasts of the 2026 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants just days before their scheduled national air dates. Miss Teen USA was set to broadcast on August 26, followed by Miss USA on August 27, marking its 75th anniversary. The sudden cancellation follows a multi-year broadcast agreement signed in June between The CW and BDE Miss USA, the organization owning the pageants. While network officials cited careful consideration, the Miss USA Organization attributed the decision to an unresolved contractual issue regarding production arrangements that could not be settled within the necessary timeframe. Unable to secure mutually agreeable terms for live television coverage, organizers partnered with the Queen Beauty Network to stream the events digitally, mirroring their 2025 distribution. The franchise has faced recurring turbulence, including high-profile leadership resignations in 2024 over workplace culture allegations and recent title revocations for state competitors.
