Enes Kanter Freedom Ejected After Courtside Confrontation with Natasha Cloud

PUBLISHED Aug 24, 2026, 3:39 AM ET

Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from Wintrust Arena during a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky following a courtside altercation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. The incident occurred in the third quarter after Cloud scored and approached Freedom, who was seated courtside wearing a shirt featuring the definition of a woman. Freedom stood up and stepped onto the playing surface, prompting immediate intervention by arena security and players. Referees ordered his removal for crossing onto the court during play. Chicago defeated Indiana 113-90. Sky head coach Tyler Marsh supported Cloud's actions, and Cloud met with WNBA security post-game without speaking to reporters. Freedom had participated in a pre-game demonstration supporting Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham regarding transgender athletes in women's sports. The WNBA Fan Code of Conduct mandates immediate ejection for spectators entering the playing area. League officials have not announced further disciplinary measures regarding the courtside incident.
