The Houston Astros and general manager Dana Brown mutually agreed to part ways Monday, ending his tenure during a tight American League West race. Brown, 59, had served as Houston’s general manager since January 2023, and his contract was scheduled to expire after the 2026 season. Brown’s tenure included two AL West titles and a 2023 AL Championship Series appearance. His most prominent trades included the December 2024 deal sending three-time All-Star Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs for Isaac Paredes, Hayden Wesneski and Cam Smith. The Astros have not announced a permanent replacement.
