Angel Reese scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Atlanta Dream to a 99-89 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night, securing a WNBA playoff berth for the Dream . Reese shot 14-of-21 from the field, surpassing her previous career high of 27 points set as a rookie in 2024 . Rhyne Howard added 20 points for Atlanta (24-13), which has won five of its last six games and moved a half-game ahead of Indiana for the fourth seed . The performance comes after Reese missed a potential game-winning layup against the Fever, a moment she admitted replaying "so many times" . Since then, she has posted a 21-point game against the Aces and a perfect 9-of-9 shooting night against the Sparks . This marks Reese's first career playoff appearance .
